IR Cut Filter

An IR cut filter is a mechanical or electronic component used in cameras to block infrared (IR) light during the daytime. It helps capture clear and accurate color images when lighting conditions are normal.

During the day, the filter blocks IR light that would otherwise distort colors in the video. At night or in low-light conditions, the filter is removed or deactivated. This allows the camera to use infrared illumination for better night vision.

IR cut filters are common in security cameras with day/night functionality. They automatically switch between modes to maintain image clarity 24/7. As a result, users get color accuracy during the day and enhanced visibility at night.

This feature improves the overall performance of surveillance systems, especially in outdoor or low-light environments.
