CCIR Standard in Analog CCTV Systems

CCIR stands for the International Radio Consultative Committee, a former standards organization under the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It developed global standards for analog television and video formats.

For example, CCIR 601 defined digital video encoding used in broadcast and surveillance systems. These guidelines helped unify signal processing across different regions.

Although CCIR was replaced by ITU-R in 1992, its standards still influence video technologies today. Many analog systems still refer to CCIR specifications for compatibility.

By understanding CCIR’s role, professionals can better work with legacy systems and international standards.
